It was a crisp evening as Los Gatos Ballet hosted the Los Gatos Chamber mixer this past Thursday night.
Members from the Chamber and community came out to support local businesses. Attendees enjoyed sipping wines from Black Ridge Vineyards and Left Bend. Coup de Thai Restaurant and Whole Foods of Los Gatos provided a tasty selection of appetizers, while Emma’s Delights delighted guests with gourmet chocolates. Our own Los Gatos Ballet community completed the décor with handmade costumes, beautiful flowers from With Flourish and scented candles by GypsyVine. Passports to tour the Santa Cruz wineries were offered as well. Guests mingled and watched the entertainment as we opened all 3 of our studios to showcase our dancers’ Nutcracker rehearsals.
It was a joy to open up our home and give guests a sneak-peak into what we do here at 630 University Ave. “It was such a beautiful event and the dancing was lovely! The food, the wine- the ambience. People will remember it always.”, said Los Gatos Chamber Executive Director, Catherine Somers. Both our instructors and students were energized to see the support from our Los Gatos community.
An important part of our mission is to "Build Community Through Dance" and we enjoy being an active part of our town. We look forward to continuing to build relationships within the community.
We are truly grateful for our Los Gatos community. Happy kick-off to the Holidays. See you at the parade...

The Los Gatos Ballet Junior Guild hosted their Fall Ball fundraiser this past Saturday. This fun masquerade party, coordinated by the Junior Guild officers, was attended by students in Level 6 through Company. The Junior Guild was in charge of the set-up, decorations, activities and collection of funds. This is the first of several fundraisers that will be put on by the Junior Guild for the 2016-17 season. All proceeds benefited the Los Gatos Ballet Foundation.
One of the missions of the Junior Guild is to intentionally create mentoring and supportive relationships between the older and younger dancers. Guild members see themselves as role models to the younger dancers and hope to be models worth emulating. Their Fall Ball was one of their first events to help bring different level dancers together in a social setting. “Our main purpose for the Fall Ball was to have fun with our ballet friends in a different and dynamic environment. We also hoped to include Level 6, as most of them will probably be a part of the Junior Guild next year. This event also doubled as a fundraiser. We made the Fall Ball entirely fun-based. The studio was decorated with pumpkins, leaves, strings of lights, and disco balls. There was dancing, a crazy sock contest, and of course choreographed pieces. - What would you expect when you get dancers together?”, said Junior Guild Secretary, Madeleine Monroe.
The Junior Guild is a program supported by the Los Gatos Ballet Foundation to give young dancers the opportunity for leadership, mentoring and philanthropy. Future fundraisers and events include a Parents’ Night Out, an annual bake sale, sandwich fundraisers and other initiatives.
