Cultivating Character
Empowering People
Through DANCE
We believe that information is the Key to Progress. The focus of the Dancer Wellness Program is to offer a platform designed to provide our dancers with key information for success. The program has multiple components designed to promote mind-body health, address injury prevention, offer education for self-care and mastery, and improve performance and artistic acquisition. Through our facilitated programs, the dancers pattern self-awareness and self-advocacy.
Dance Conditioning
Each season our Wellness Associates design and progress students in Levels 5-8 through a dance-specific conditioning program designed to prevent injury and to enhance technique training. Dance conditioning is fully integrated into the curriculum, which incorporates daily exercises and weekly conditioning classes.
Dancer Wellness Lab
We are excited to offer weekly Wellness Lab hours for Level 5 to 8 dancers, which is included in the youth program tuition. During the scheduled hours, the dancers are able to meet with the Wellness Staff for a brief assessment, guidance for injury prevention, rehab and performance enhancement.
LGB is uniquely staffed to ensure appropriate attention and care of injuries and pain as early as possible so dancers are able participate in the full season of classes and performances.

One of the biggest milestones for a young dancer is the day she first takes class in pointe shoes. It’s a marker of achieving a level of proficiency that reflects her dedication to the art.
Los Gatos Ballet’s Wellness Associates have implemented a program to enhance the physical, emotional and mental strength required of the milestone, and to support the faculty through objective assessment for pointe readiness.
Using an integrative disciplinary approach that includes Neuroscience performance techniques, Pilates based conditioning, stability and mobility techniques, Be En Pointe is designed to prepare the dancer for pointe work. This program culminates with an objective assessment supported by the faculty to determine pointe readiness. It’s a wonderful way to empower the dancers through the process.
