Luis Isiordia is a dance artist from Turlock, California.He began dancing at eight with Center for Urban Performance and Service directed by Kylene Murphy. With nearly 18 years in the dance industry, he finds passion, innovation, and creativity in all of his work. He has had the opportunity to work in this industry in its many forms including live performance, virtual performance, as well as in the film aspect. In spring 2023, Luis acquired a Bachelors of Fine Arts from San Jose State University. It was while at SJSU that he trained under phenomenal professors and was able to perform the works of renowned choreographers such as Mike Ezperanza, Doug Varone, Camille A. Brown, Shlomit Fundaminsky, and Jose Limon.
He’s had the pleasure of working and collaborating with artists all over the country. A short list of these artists includes Misty RasconSmith, Mookie Washington, Enjoli Duvall, Andrea Miller, and Noe Rios. Luis also finds a passion training as an aerialist being trained by Kat Hughes, Irina Jang, and Rebekah Leach. He received his aerial certification from Jill Franklin of Aerial Physique in 2021. As he has transitioned into his professional career, Luis has expanded his artistry by working with renowned choreographers and even choreographing himself. Since 2023, Luis has been a company member with sjDANCEco, where he has been for four seasons. Apart from the company, he has worked with Bay Area choreographers Jenni Hong, Kara Davis, Natasha Adorlee, and most recently Rogelio Lopez.
He has worked on choreographic works all over the Bay Area and has had multiple residencies as a guest artist for several high schools. As of 2026, Luis has had his work shown regionally. Most notably, his work ‘Marigolds’ was chosen for the Ballet Alliance Festival in Reno, Nevada; choreographed for Los Gatos Ballet, with whom he has also been involved with as an instructor and choreographer for the last three years. Always finding ways to reinvent not only himself, but his craft, processes, and practices, Luis looks forward to seeing what opportunities come his way.
