Maranathá (Mara) Rodriguez

Flamenco Instructor

I developed a love for dance and the arts at a young age due to my family’s music, acting, and dance background. My mother introduced me to Flamenco lessons at age 3, inspired by my father’s Spanish heritage and passion for Flamenco. I accomplished my dance education at Las Cabales A.C., a prestigious academy in Guadalajara, México, where I studied classical Spanish dance, ballet, and Flamenco. Over the years, I performed in various Flamenco Festivals at renowned theaters like Teatro Degollado and in Tablaos at private events and restaurants. During my career, I have taken professional flamenco classes with renowned flamenco dancers such as José Maya, Alfonso Loza, María Juncal and David Paniagua, in Amor De Dios- the best flamenco academy in Madrid, and Guadalajara as well. I earned my professional dance certification after training for 25 years at Las Cabales Academy. In 2011, I moved to the USA. I began dancing at La Gran Tapa, a Spanish restaurant in San Diego, while also teaching dance to girls and adults in Southern California and Virginia.
