Carter Alexander

A passionate advocate for new choreography, Carter Alexander co-directed the aka:ballet choreography project in 2018, bringing together emerging artists to create and premiere new works in an intensive collaborative environment. As artistic director of Dallas DanceFest/Dallas Dances and Ballet Dallas, he championed contemporary voices while creating original works of his own.

Diane Cypher

Under the tutelage of her mentor, Barbara Crockett, Diane’s teaching career began in 1983. She taught throughout her dance career in Sacramento as a member of the Crockett Dance Studio faculty and later taught and directed the School of San Jose Dance Theater. Diane attended the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet Teacher Course in 2005 and has been greatly influenced by its syllabus and teachings.

Jeanne Elser Smith

Drawing on her extensive artistic background and passion for child-centered learning, Jeanne Elser Smith created an original Movement Art Curriculum and founded the Young Children’s Program at the Miami City Ballet School. Her innovative approach integrates movement, creativity, and developmental principles to nurture the whole child.

“I had a wonderful time guiding the Los Gatos Ballet dancers in classical ballet as well as exploring ways to make their movement visible on paper.
